This tutorial will guide you step by step to make a Backup of your site´s Database before any eventuality.

You must enter to your Control Panel, placing in the navigation bar /cpanel after your site's URL, as the following example:

www.my-web-site.com/cpanel

You will need the following information:

Username: (place your username)
Password: (place your password)

NOTE: if you ignore this information, please ask your Hosting Provider.

You will enter in your Control Panel. You will see a screen like the following (See Figure)

Press the Backup icon. You will see a screen like the following (See Figure)

You can see : “Download a MySQL Database Backup”

Below there are all the databases. The number of them depends on the number of programs (scripts) that you have installed on the server. If you have any questions, please backup all, one by one.

Put the mouse over the different Databases, press right button and select Save Target As…

Select a folder on your PC to save the Database. Then press Save, and in a few seconds your database will be safe on your machine. On a small file you will have the complete info.

IMPORTANT: due to the great amount of sites we manage, is impossible to make backups of all the accounts, so we recommend each client make its own backup. The whole process takes between 30 and 45 seconds and is better than entire days of hard work for restoring the site.
