| Components are applications that play a key role in managing content of your Website. They are small programs that provide functionality and mutually with the default program, or are downloaded and installed apart from the administrator.
There are several kinds of them, such as:
- Frontend Components (examples: com_content, com_weblinks, com_newsfeeds, etc).
- Administrator Components (examples: com_config, com_media, com_statistics, com_typedcontent, etc).
- Combined Components (most of them. Examples: com_banners, com_polls, com_login, etc)
